Confocal Laser Endomicroscopy-Guided Exclusion Diet Fails to Improve IBS Symptoms in Controlled Trial
A randomized controlled crossover trial found that individualized exclusion diets based on confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) findings do not significantly improve symptoms in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) patients compared to sham diets. Moreover, CLE-detected mucosal alterations are non-specific and present in healthy individuals.
