Highlight
This study investigates retreatment rates and timing in infants treated with primary laser photocoagulation versus intravitreal bevacizumab injection for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Key findings include a significantly lower early retreatment rate in the bevacizumab group compared to laser-treated eyes, with retreatment mainly confined to micro- or nano-premature infants (<27 weeks gestational age or <800 grams). Aggressive ROP (AROP) predicted earlier retreatment, and bevacizumab delayed the need for additional interventions.
