This bibliometric analysis of critical care publications from 2018 to 2022 reveals significant gender disparities in authorship, with women making up only 31.3% of authors overall. Notably, women are better represented in studies from low- and middle-income countries (L/MICs) than in those from high-income countries (HICs). While disparities persist, female authorship has shown temporal improvement in both settings, particularly in senior authorship roles within HICs.
