Evolving Impact of Inhaled Antibiotics on Lung Function in Cystic Fibrosis During the CFTR-Modulator Era
This analysis of U.S. CF Foundation registry data reveals that inhaled antibiotics confer lung function benefits primarily in chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections, but their treatment benefit has declined with CFTR modulator use. Risks of secondary infections are higher in Pseudomonas-negative patients who do not benefit in lung function.
