Highlight
This large multicenter prospective registry documented the incidence of adult in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) across China, revealing a notable patient burden with an annual incidence of 4.1 per 1000 admissions and a low overall survival rate of 9.1% to 30 days or hospital discharge. The study identified rapid initial resuscitation times but uncovered significant gaps in the application of advanced postresuscitation therapies such as temperature control and coronary angiography. Furthermore, systemic and cultural obstacles including the rarity of do-not-attempt-resuscitation (DNACPR) orders were suggested as contributors to suboptimal long-term outcomes.
