Insertion of button batteries and magnets in the nose is a common pediatric emergency with potential for severe mucosal injury.
Most children show favorable long-term sinonasal outcomes and preserved quality of life (QoL) after foreign body removal.
Prolonged retention of foreign bodies and presence of symptoms at presentation significantly increase risk of long-term complications.
Routine extended follow-up is recommended for symptomatic children and those with delayed foreign body removal to prevent morbidity.
