Study Background and Disease Burden

Study Design

The UNICORN study is a prospective, nationwide cohort study enrolling children aged less than 18 years with newly diagnosed non-infectious uveitis from March 1, 2020, to February 28, 2023. The study included 221 children with a median age of 10.9 years; 52% were girls. Patients were followed from onset of symptoms through diagnosis, with detailed recording of clinical features, time intervals from symptom onset to diagnosis, initial clinical presentation, and presence of structural ocular complications at diagnosis.
