Incidence and Implications of Early Alloantibody Formation After Trauma Resuscitation With Rh(D)+ Whole Blood Versus Rh(D)- Red Blood Cells
A large retrospective study demonstrates that transfusion of low-titer group O whole blood (LTOWB) in trauma resuscitation carries a low and comparable risk of early red blood cell alloimmunization relative to component therapy, including anti-D antibody formation.
