Evaluating Near-Infrared Autofluorescence for Parathyroid Preservation in Total Thyroidectomy: Long-Term Outcomes from a Prospective Randomized Trial
This two-center randomized trial assessed near-infrared autofluorescence imaging to identify parathyroid glands during total thyroidectomy. Despite higher gland identification rates, the technology did not reduce hypoparathyroidism incidence at 3 and 12 months postoperatively.
