Testosterone Inhibition and Reduced Risk of Laryngeal and Hypopharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma in Men: Insights from a Large Swedish Cohort
A population-based cohort study in Sweden found that use of 5α-reductase inhibitors, which reduce bioactive testosterone, is associated with a 17% lower risk of laryngeal and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma in men, supporting the hormonal influence on these cancers' male predominance.
