A large-scale analysis of over 115,000 patients demonstrates that isolated severe systolic hypertension (SBP ≥160 mmHg) during delivery admission is independently associated with a dramatic, dose-dependent increase in severe maternal morbidity, including pulmonary edema and renal failure.
