OCT Guidance Cuts MACE in Complex PCI — Success Hinges on Achieving Post‑stent Optimization
The multicentre OCCUPI trial showed OCT-guided PCI reduced 1‑year major adverse cardiac events versus angiography (HR 0.62). A prespecified OCT subanalysis found that achieving predefined OCT optimization (expansion, apposition, no major edge dissection) was strongly associated with lower events (2.9% vs 9.4%).
